Are you tired of looking pudgy and chubby? Are you tired of trying to fight your muffin top only to lose the fight every single day? Believe it or not, the things that might be keeping you from losing weight might be some of your every day habits that you don’t even think about doing anymore. There are all sorts of awful habits that keep us weighing more than we want to weigh. Here are some habits that you might want to change if you wish to improve your waistline.

Only taking in foods that are “low” or “no” fat. Believe it or not, low fat and fat free foods do not in reality save you many calories. What they take out in fat, they replace in the form of carbs. These carbohydrates trigger a sugar rush and then a sugar crash and then rebound hunger so you just keep eating. Aim for your taste buds and give yourself permission to eat the fully fatted foods once in a while. You won’t be as hungry and you will have lots of more energy.

Trying to figure out your nutrition by yourself can often cause you to stagnate in your weight. It seems like an uncomplicated enough subject at first. The truth is that it is really an involved subject. If you want to go on a campaign to get healthy and slim down, you should make at least one appointment with a dietitian. A nutritionist will help you determine how much of what kind of food you should be consuming and help you plan a reasonable and healthy diet.

Not getting the proper amount of sleep. Studies have shown that those who diet and don’t get enough sleep tend to gain, on average, two and a half times more belly fat than individuals who get the required six to seven hours per night. You’ve probably heard eight hours all your life, but six or seven has been determined to be the best for people who are trying to lose weight.

Soda, even diet softdrinks, is really bad for you if you want to lose weight and get rid of your muffin top. People who drink between one and two softdrinks a day have a more than thirty percent increase in the likelihood that they will develop weight issues. Diet soda drinkers were found to have bellies that grew as much as five times faster than people who did not drink soda pop. So throw away that Pepsi or Coke and choose water instead!

There are a lot of minor, every day, kinds of things that keep us from achieving the weight we want to achieve. Things like not getting enough sleep, attempting ot pla your own diet (when you are new to the process), staying away from fats and drinking all sorts of soda can all make your waist grow. Make sure you talk with your physician to figure out if any of the things you are doing could be hindering your weight loss goals.
