How to Lose Pregnancy Weight

Did you just have a baby, congratulations! Hopefully motherhood is amazing and wonderful for you. One of the main concerns new mothers have (asides from the new baby) is how they can lose all the weight they’ve gained during their pregnancy. I’m pretty sure that you would much rather spend quality time with your new baby than having to run off to the gym for a couple of hours everyday.

It can be really difficult, once having a baby to lose pregnancy weight. There are ways you can lose pregnancy fat and spend time with your new child. Follow this easy tips to lose pregnancy weight AND be there for your new child.

The first step you can do is to control what you put into your body. During pregnancy and post pregnancy your body is going through several hormonal stages. You will notice some changes about yourself after childbirth due to your hormones trying to stabilize. You will experience all these food cravings because of your change in hormones. You can’t pig out on ice cream and use the excuse your eating for two anymore. By stabilizing and controlling how much sugar your body is taking in, you can keep cravings at bay. Eat small meals and frequently as the day goes by. You have a greater chance at weight loss if you eat 5-6 small meals a day vs. the traditional 2-3 meals.

Secondly, other than the great benefits for your child during breast feeding, you can also lose more weight if you breast feed.  It’s hard to believe but there is a biological reason why you gain weight during pregnancy. Your body  needs fat to help you lactate. If you breast feed, you can lose up to 500-700 calories a day. A great way to bond with your child is to breast feed plus the added bonus is it’s the most rewarding way to burn calories.

Third, you can lose pregnancy fat and spend quality time with your baby just by taking a walk around the neighborhood. Your neighbors and friends are probably all dying to see your new baby, so instead of having them come to visit you, why not get some exercise and put your child in a stroller and walk all over the neighborhood to show him or her off. Your friends and neighbors are probably excited to meet your new addition in the family and instead of them coming over, why don’t you take your little bundle of joy for a walk in the stroller. Taking a walk is a fast exercise to lose weight, it also help you deal with the stress of being a mother if you do this everyday.

Keep in mind it’s not important to lose this weight fast. Having a baby takes a big toll on your body, try to pace losing weight. Lose weight the safe and natural way. Don’t you want to start off motherhood as safe as  you can, for your baby by losing weight safely and naturally . Be patient and soon you will lose that pregnancy fat and be able to fit in your little black dress again.
