Get Rid Of Love Handles
Posted at by ifydcat on category weight loss“Love Handles” as they’re affectionately called are the side areas around your waist on each side of your body. The oblique muscles are the muscles that sit underneath the “love handles” and form part of your core muscle structure.
So if you concentrate any exercises on the oblique muscles you will be able to get rid of love handles? Short answer, no. The same theory can be used for any fatty areas of your body. Body fat reduction doesn’t mean going to the gym and training on all the weight machines.
What you need to look at first is overall weight loss. If muscle increase is the one area that is worked on, you’ll have great muscles but not see them due to the fat deposits surrounding the muscle. You may have seen plenty of advertisements on TV showing you rippling muscles if you use this machine or that machine. If you pay close attention, there’s always a disclaimer at the bottom of the screen. That’s called “the fine print”. The disclaimer always states something like, “Results shown are achieved in conjunction with a weight loss program.
Weight loss can be achieved using these machines if you’re willing to put in hours of work a day without changing your diet.
A good diet and regularly exercise are what helps produce the results seen on those TV ads. A good start to dieting is reducing foods which are quite obviously not good for you. Fried foods and high sugar content foods are an excellent start.
Regular exercise is another major part of weight loss. There are many ways to exercise without needing to sign up to your local gym. Exercising for 30 minutes per day while eating well can help maintain your weight at a minimum.
Exercises include brisk walking, riding a bike, climbing stairs or walking up hills. These exercises increase your heart rate which in turn helps burn any calories that you’ve digested during the day. The longer the exercise, the more calories you burn which reduces your weight.
Once you have begun to lose weight, then you can target the areas to get rid of the love handles. An exercise which specifically targets your love handles is:
Side crunches: Lay on your back, bend you knees up and then lay them down sideways with your knees touching the ground. Now you can perform crunches (or sit-ups) which will target the obliques around your love handles. Don’t worry if you can do many to start with, that’s not the point here. The point is to gradually increase the amount you do over time.
Exercises such as the above will work your side obliques. The other excellent exercise is standard crunches (sit-ups). These two exercises will help strengthen your abs/obliques as well as your overall “core”, which will soon turn love handles into rippling “six packs”.
