1.  Give up soda and soft drinks.  One of the quickest easy ways to lose weight is also the most straightforward.  Since sodas are so high in sugar, they can add a big amount of calories to your daily total, causing weight gain, or the retention of excess pounds.  Switch from sugary sodas to sugar free drinks.  While you can change over to diet soda, replacing your daily alcohol-free drink with a sparkling water or unsweetened tea is a smarter choice.  Why?  Because although diet drinks are sugar free, the sweetness can make you hunger for sugar.  By getting rid of sweet drinks entirely, you can cut your cravings for good. 

 

2.  Drink water.  Another one of the easy ways to lose weight is to drink water – most experts recommend 64 oz. a day.  Water will help flush your system, and drinking water keeps your body from retaining liquids ( known as water weight ).  Dehydration may cause headaches and prematurely age your skinso drink up!  One of the simplest methods to drink enough water is to fill up a large pitcher or bottle, and drink from that throughout the day.  You can also use travel bottles or bottled water. 

 

3.  Take a hike.  If you are inactive, or never get to the gym to workout, simply adding a walk to your day a number of times a week will help you lose pounds.  Walking consumes calories, and even straightforward exercise can boost your metabolism and improve your health. 

 

4.  Eat fruits and vegatables.  If you are already eating fruits and vegetables, great!  If not, or if you aren’t eating the correct amount, then you want to add some to your menu.  Increasing the quantity of good food you eat will help you lose weight.  If you do not generally eat fruit or vegatables, try adding in 3 servings a day at first.  Replace a fatty snack with an apple or banana, or have a small salad with your lunch or dinner.  Adding these items into your diet is one of the healthy and easy ways to lose weight. 

 

5.  Eliminate processed foods.  Give up pre-packed foods.  These are the convenience items found in the middle aisles of your grocer, and in the fridge section.  It could take some planning, but replacing processed foods with things you cook your self and whole foods will assist you in losing weight and eliminate all the unhealthy fats and chemicals that these foods sometimes contain. 

 

6.  Try a fast.  Fasting sounds like a scary thing but fasting intermittently ( for a single day ), can leave you feeling energized and refreshed and eliminate some of the excess water and waste you are carrying around.  Fasting for a single day can be a straightforward way to shed a few pounds, and to give your metabolic rate a boost.  If you haven’t done a fast before, look for a plan designed for intermittent fasting, and give it a try one time, you will be shocked at how easy it is, and how effective it can be. 

 

 

Some of the easy ways to lose weight involve easy substitutions – drinking water rather than soda, eating fruit instead of candy, or taking a walk instead of watching TV.  These little changes really add up over time, and will improve your health while they whittle away the pounds.
